The fastest way to go to Torrevieja from Alicante is by car or taxi, which takes around 40 minutes. The distance between Alicante and Torrevieja is approximately 50 km. To reach Torrevieja from Alicante by car, take the AP-7 motorway south towards Murcia and then take the exit for Torrevieja. 

Alternatively, you can take a bus from Alicante to Torrevieja, which takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes. The bus station in Alicante is located near the train station, and there are several bus companies that operate regular services to Torrevieja.

The history of Torrevieja dates back to the 18th century when it was a small fishing village. The town was founded by fisherman who came from nearby Orihuela.
